BTF-CHECK: FEINE SAHNE FISCHFILET

Opening your mouth to the point of locking your jaw is certainly one of the hallmarks of FEINE SAHNE FISCHFILET. As well as clearly standing for anti-fascism and shouting it out in every possible way. We're happy to join in and are already looking forward to the Sow. Now our quick festival check:

In 2010 you opened the Saturday of the festival. This year you are returning as a headliner. How is that? In between there is at least an almost meteoric rise. It is completely absurd. We can still remember it very well. It was one of our first appearances at a major festival. Before that there was actually only force attack, which of course was always unsurpassed, but suddenly there was an invitation outside of MV. Sometime around midday, totally drunk, Monchi without shoes, in front of the stage and then just sound the alarm. And then just have a great swim. Good memory. The fact that we will play a little later is of course absurd. And there are certainly plenty of people who don't like us and wouldn't let us play until 1 p.m. at the most. But for you as a band, you're just happy to be back and you're happy that it's working out. We just think it's cool that Back To Future exists because we think it's extremely important that things like this exist in provinces like this.

Swimming in the forest pool. Saturday or Sunday. Since we will arrive on Saturday, only Saturday. But before and after, as long as possible. Actually, mostly all of them. Except for Kai, he prefers to bully from the edge of the pool.

What do you imagine by punk rock wellness? Something with a sauna, beer infusion and Netflix within the sauna.

Is there a band you want to see? Since we won't be arriving until Saturday, a few bands will be missing. A few of us would definitely have liked to see RUDE PRIDE live. Bone Factory would definitely have been a “must have”. But Saturday is also nice and as a Rostock resident you are of course looking forward to meeting the guys from Third Choice in person again.

Have you ever thought about making a live LP? Clear.

Do you actually wish you were in front of one of your shows and not on stage? Clear.

BTF-CHECK: ANTI FLAG

Our powers of persuasion to bring Anti Flag back to us weren't all that great, as they still remembered the tent show from two years ago. Here is your festival check for this year, which Chris #2 answered.

You were with us two years ago. With all the festivals you play, can you remember Back To Future? But sure, that was pretty awesome. The concert, the food and this special atmosphere among the people in the audience. Lots of punk rockers from different sub-scenes of different ages. Really great to see how music can connect.

What do you like best about festival shows? We see festivals as an opportunity. As a way to share our message and agenda. So that we are a band that speaks out against racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, war, nationalism, intolerance or bigotry. There are people who come to a festival just to party and listen to music, which is wonderful. But if they somehow come into contact with us there and get involved, then they quickly realize that we are about more than that. So this whole festival world is a powerful and important tool for us.

What do you associate with punk rock wellness? In my opinion, punk should always challenge the status quo. And right now the status quo is buying, working, eating, sleeping and then the whole thing starts again. Not more. But you will certainly never reach a state of inner satisfaction. For me, punk rock means paying attention to yourself, listening. But also having responsibility and empathy for other people and the planet. I would say that is what punk rock wellness stands for to me.

Is there a band you would like to check out from our line up? Richie Ramone. I'm excited to see what he comes up with. But I'm also looking forward to The Bombpops. It's been a while since we met her.

Anti-Flag has been around for a quarter century now. Do you have anything special planned for this anniversary? Somehow we are always planning something. With our set we will try to celebrate the best songs of the past few years. Because we know that it is not presidents, prime ministers, popes, the CIA or other self-proclaimed world leaders who change the world, but rather everyday people. We're celebrating 25 years of trying and succeeding in connecting people and making the world a better place through our definition of punk rock.

Finally, please make a joke. What does a farmer ask when he's looking for his tractor? - Where is my tractor?

BAND WANTED FOR FRIDAY LUNCH

We could add another band to the BADMATADOREN - playing time Friday lunchtime. Will there ever be such a chance again? Rather not.

You play in a band that fits Back To Future and your rehearsal room is not far from Glaubitz? Then get in touch with yourself or your friend who plays in such a formation. So put the name of the band under the post on Facebook and link the contact person. The Waldbad plenum then takes up the decision and immediately contacts the musicians.

INFORMATION ABOUT THE FAMILY CAMPSITES

Yep, there will also be a separate family camp in 2019! The response last year was great and this year we have already received some new inquiries.

The camp area is located in a separate and somewhat quieter part of the immediate festival area. Nevertheless, parents should think about suitable hearing protection. If necessary, you can also buy different sizes at the KOMBI burger stand. As always, we have a wide range of food selection - you're sure to find something for your rascals on the festival grounds, the actual campsite and in the forest pool. Otherwise, DIY “babysitting” is the order of the day again. If necessary, exchange ideas with the other parents, not everyone wants to see the same bands. There is a secret FB group so that you can get to know each other in advance. We can add you to this if you are interested...

Basic requirement for everything:
Register by email to info@back-to-future.com - then you will receive all relevant information from us with the associated accreditation.

Important information:
Children up to the age of 13 have free entry. Children aged 14 to 15 receive a 50% discount! After that, everyone is a full-payer.

We look forward to the next generation!

BTF-CHECK: TOTENWALD

A band that will enrich us in several ways this year is Totenwald. The performance will definitely be exciting.

How do you know the festival? You hear that again and again. So the festival has been around for a long time and the line up is usually very good because the mix of bands from all over the world is excellent.

What's it like for you to come to us? For us it's basically the chance to present ourselves to an audience that mostly doesn't know us and usually doesn't prefers a different sound. For us to be able to see other bands and to be sure to meet people we know or make new acquaintances. We are looking forward to a really nice Punx Picnic.

Then let's get the word out, what can people expect from you? Well, we are a punk band that is heavily influenced by 80s New Wave.

Which bands are you excited to see? Third choice, Richie Ramone, piss and raid.

Please finish this sentence: With Playing Totenwald is... ...like traveling forward into the past.

BTF-CHECK: THE BOMBPOPS

The American THE BOMBPOPS are coming to visit us for the first time this year. Like everyone else, they had to answer a few questions:

This is your first time coming to us, then let's go. Uh, hello, it's Poli from The Bombpops.

Aha. Do you already know Back To Future? Yes, we were recently on tour in Germany and we were told about the festival. That's a good thing.

What is a “no go” at a festival? Not drinking enough water between beers. Do yourself a favor. Oh and of course: Don't do shit with beer!

Is there a band you're interested in that you've never heard of before? I will try to see as many as possible. I enjoy this at festivals and it’s good for bands. You have the opportunity to show quite a few people at the same time.

Our slogan is “Punk Rock Wellness”. What could that mean? Hm, that could mean that you keep holding the punk rock flag high in the wind. But also taking care of yourself and everyone else around you and supporting each other.
