INFORMATION ON REGISTRATION FOR OUR BTF FAMILY CAMP

After renewed consultation, we have decided to withdraw this year's restrictions regarding your kids' festival attendance. We definitely don't want to question your abilities as a parent. You are the best judge of what is good for your little loved ones. However, we would like to remind you again that as parents you have the right to bring your children with you, but also the duty of supervision and care. We would like to apologize for this paternalism, our concern was solely with the kids. That specifically means:

  • The age limit of 4 years has been lifted again, you can bring your kids of any age with you
  • The time limit of 8:00 p.m. for the festival site will also be cancelled. Your minis can stay as long as you think is right.

DRITTE WAHL (GER)

The third band that received our three questions about BACK TO FUTURE is - surprise - DRITTE WAHL. Number 5 in the charts, the current album “Urlaub in der Bredouille” was quite a hit. Singer Gunnar himself was so nice and radioed the following answers from the coast:

1) Gunnar, in 1998 the BACK TO FUTURE - back then under the name "UNITY IS A WEAPON" - took place for the very first time in Glaubitz. Included are OXYMORON, TROOPERS, THE BUSINESS and, well, who else? That's right, DRITTE WAHL. Do you still have any memories of that time in deep Saxony? To be honest, I can only vaguely remember it. We traveled a lot in Saxony and Thuringia back then, so for us it wasn't deepest Saxony but rather “completely normal” Saxony. But it couldn't have been shit because we came back. ;-)

2) A lot has happened since 1998, even since your last intermezzo here (2018) a lot has happened in the DRITTE WAHL camp. Your current record went through the roof, or is going through the roof, you're now filling pretty big halls and the slots at the "bigger" festivals are becoming more and more attractive. What does such a return to our comparatively small stage mean to you? We are happy and happy that we can/are allowed to do both, big stages at big festivals and then also the smaller, more familiar open airs. Both have their charm and we don't want to miss either. At Back To Future we know a lot of people behind the stage and in the audience and so it will most likely end in a wet/happy get-together again this year. Very nice!!!

3) Are there any bands on the line-up that you are looking forward to seeing or are you completely concentrating on your own performance? If so, which bands are they? Unfortunately, I don't know yet which band is playing on which day, but I would really like to see the Undertones, Blitzkid (I just saw them in Osnabrück), The Briefs, Turbostaat, 7Seconds. But I'll also take a look at 100 Kilo Herz, Kotzreiz, Pisse, Generators and a few others when they play on our day. We then prepare our own performance an hour in advance with the renovations etc. We're looking forward to summer, loud music and drinks outside!

Abracadabra, 1x Black Tomcat

Brand new to our promo team: Picco! He's responsible for cuddling flyers, purring along to our Spotify playlist and generally being sweet. Apparently the entire internet world loves "cat content", but a little old school advertising is necessary: like every year, we would be happy if you supported us a little. Do you go to a concert every other weekend? The barren wall of your local pub could use a bit of pink and yellow touch? Is laying out flyers your secret passion anyway? Do you like receiving mail? Get in touch by email (info@back-to-future.com) and we will send you a small (or a large if desired) promo package with posters and flyers.

We share the back with our friends from THIS IS SKA Festival. Traditionally, this takes place a few weeks before the BACK TO FUTURE at the Wasserburg Rosslau. Super nice atmosphere, nice people, fine music. Thumbs up!

We thank you in advance. Without you we are nothing. Only 4 months, 2 weeks and 2 days left. And then there could be a hangover. Just different...

NOi!SE (US)

NOi!SE play earthy, American street punk with an unmistakable voice, singer Matt would certainly also cut a good figure as an Americana, folk or blues singer. Will definitely be a highlight of this year's festival. We asked a few questions about the pond:

1) Hello Matt, how are you? It's hard to believe, but this is really only your second time in Europe with NOI!SE? Why are you making us wait so long? That's right, it's really only our second time there. However, that's not because we didn't want to. Work and family commitments have always made it complicated to take more than a few days off at a time. We generally played very few shows between 2020 and 2023. Now we are of course even more happy!

2) The name NOI!SE kept appearing on our festival visitors' wish lists: "Get NOI!SE!" - we heard that quite often! What does that do to you? What do you generally expect from our festival - if you have ever heard of us? This makes us really proud and we are absolutely grateful for the support! Hopefully we can live up to expectations! BACK TO FUTURE will be our first festival overseas, and if the reaction to our band in Europe so far is any indication, it will be an outstanding experience!

3) Looking at the flyer, are there any bands in the line-up that you're personally looking forward to seeing or are you stuck with a good backstage beer? Haha, yes, your beer could certainly distract some people from the festival. There are an incredible number of bands that we are looking forward to, but THE SELECTER probably stand above all of them. We're also excited about the many bands we don't know yet, and we're also looking forward to seeing our friends THE CASUALTIES, THE BRIEFS and LOWER CLASS BRATS again!

THE MEFFS (UK) - BON APPETIT

We have no idea what our flyers taste like, so you'll have to ask Lewis from THE MEFFS himself. The duo from Essex scored hugely on their recently completed tour, someone was already talking about a "mini-hype".

But let's leave the church in the village, the BACK TO FUTURE suitability barometer stopped but really at 10 out of 10! Sometimes this Fat Mike seems to have a really good nose for punk rock!

INFORMATION ON REGISTRATION FOR OUR BTF FAMILY CAMP

...finally some of you will say. For months we have been receiving emails about how registration for this year's family camp is going. Sorry that we had to delay your festival planning for a bit.

Yes, there will be FUTURE KIDZ again at Back To Future in 2024! Early musical and socio-political education remains a need for us! We also found a new area for the family camp, located a little away from the festival area, therefore quieter, a little larger and just a stone's throw from the forest pool. The new area will also accommodate many more families with caravans, mobile homes, etc. Another innovation this year will be that we are introducing an age limit. Only families with children aged 4 and over have the opportunity to register for the family camp. Proof of age must be presented on site. As the number of visitors to the festival grounds increases in the evening, the risk of accidents for the kids increases when they wander around among the crowds. For this reason, we have decided that children under 12 years of age are no longer allowed on the festival grounds from 8 p.m. and should please return to the family camp from that time onwards.

We have made registration easier for you. »HERE is the link to register with further additional information ! Let's start today! We look forward to seeing you and the FUTURE KIDZ!

OI!RONIE- Short interview

Oi!RONIE is now live and in person on our festival stage for the first time. As the campsite photo from 2022 shows here, the Berlin band is dealing with real BTF professionals. It's obvious that the band around singer Mia has to be the first to serve in our little Q&A:

1) We are pretty sure that you have already been seen at the BACK TO FUTURE counter, how was the festival request received at the Oi!RONIE headquarters? Pure enthusiasm and anticipation!!! And for the first time we weren't annoyed that we missed out on the early bird tickets again.

2) Looking at the rest of the line up: Are there any bands that you are particularly looking forward to, regardless of your own performance? Oha. We have very different tastes within the band. But: Tompa and my personal highlight are definitely Hard Skin. Noi!se also caused euphoria for the majority of us. We will definitely watch 7 Seconds and 8°6 Crew together too. I'm also really looking forward to seeing Resistance'32. But in the end we sink into the forest pool anyway.

3) Blistering heat, alcohol and people constantly chatting: what's your trick to getting through 3 days of festival well? File Under: Experts give wellness tips: The forest bath solves all problems. Shower, hunger, karaoke. The body has no chance of giving up. We are so much Team Waldbad that we stroll there again on Sunday to say goodbye. Thanks for the invitation. We enjoyed ourselves very much!!!

Off to the weekend with the current clip from 100 KILO HERZ (GER)!

In the summer, the hats and anoraks are swapped for bucket hats and sunglasses: the band from Leipzig's new video has been out for a week, and the current EP called - of course - "Herz" has been released! This is still available at CoreTex Berlin, among others - and once you're there, you can add one, two or five BACK TO FUTURE tickets to your shopping cart. Have fun with “Fluss Abwärts”!

FESTIVAL CANCELLED KNOCHENFABRIK

It's not due to poorer visual behavior on your part, KNOCHENFABRIK really isn't on the flyer anymore. And that even though we had already fully announced Claus & Co.

"Was ist bloß passiert?" Well, unfortunately a scheduling conflict prevents the band from appearing at BACK TO FUTURE, but we are already in very positive discussions for next year's edition. We say SORRY with a heavy heart and hope that this downer remains the only one in terms of band cancellations.
