GLAUBITZ CALLING!

BACK TO FUTURE, back from its year-long slumber, back in the same place, back in the middle of summer!

Here's the first band and presale info. Of course, we'll be introducing each act individually in the coming days, as usual. We'll once again be putting together an appealing and diverse lineup – with new and old favorites, a few surprises, but above all, bands that fit our festival.

We're also making BTF a bit smaller again, and therefore a bit more intimate, based on your feedback from the past few months. This also means that we'll be limiting the number of tickets, so grab yours quickly! You can get a weekend ticket in advance for just €79.00 as an e-ticket, or as a stylish hard ticket for your bulletin board or fridge. Anyone who would like to support us further can order a BTF Supporter Ticket as a hard ticket for the regular BTF price of €99.00 (including a €20.00 donation).

We can't wait and are really looking forward to seeing you!

Back To Future 2026 – we're back!

Yes, it took some time – but there were good reasons for that. The originally planned new concept for our beloved festival unfortunately couldn't be implemented. So we kept refining it: endless meetings, a thousand coordination changes, five reschedulings, and overcoming the usual bureaucratic hurdles. But we did it!

The result is impressive: From July 16th to 18th, 2026, we'll be celebrating again at the Reitplatz – smaller, more intimate, more direct. So you can already submit your wellness vacation voucher.

We'll meet again where it all began – with new energy, but with what always remains: a relaxed atmosphere, cold drinks, and honest punk rock. Just as it should be!

The first band announcements and information about the start of presales will follow in the coming days.

TICKET-RETURN

The right to return BTF tickets purchased in advance ends on July 16, 2025.

Just a quick note: the solidarity of your ticket donations, or partial ticket donations, was extraordinary. It prompts us to meet in Glaubitz this weekend for the originally planned start of setup. We have some really cool ideas for punk rock wellness!

From the Glaubitz field to Chemiefabrik!

In five weeks, Punk Rock Wellness would normally be back on the agenda in Glaubitz, but unfortunately, the reality is different.

We can live with the cancellation now and are happy that we can at least be guests of some of this year's BTF dream bands. Thanks for that, Chemiefabrik Dresden. According to Chemiefabrik, 90 percent of the combination tickets (July 17-19) for the event "From the Glaubitz Field to the Chemical Factory" have already been sold. Availability for individual day tickets is looking a little better. We know that a lot of cool people are looking forward to the lineup, and we're looking forward to seeing you. Therefore, our appeal: Don't wait too long to buy your tickets; even the chemotherapy has to factor in the time.

To give the whole show a more festival-like feel, the organizers have added the popular Dresden punk-schlager duo ELBTALHERZEN and Ernstl ala ED SERIOUS to the lineup for Saturday. LOHRGE, who were also scheduled to perform in Glaubitz, will also be there on Friday.

We'll keep you updated on advance sales and the schedule in the coming days.

From the Glaubitz field to Chemiefabrik!

Wow, the "From the Glaubitz Field to the Chemical Factory" campaign is currently taking off! We at BTF are very excited about it, even if it's not our event. Nevertheless, this is exactly the right time to top it off! Three more brilliant bands are moving from the field to the chemical factory, forgoing part of their original fees! Voilà: KNOCHENFABRIK, NASTY RUMOURS (CH), and MÄD LŸNX.

The event is now taking on a real festival feel; perhaps the delicious lineup can console some people a little over the cancellation of BACK TO FUTURE. Advance ticket sales start at the beginning of next week via the Chemiefabrik. Stay tuned and spread the good news.

From the Glaubitz field to Chemiefabrik!

The BTF Festival is canceled this year – but the weekend won't be quiet. The Chemiefabrik Dresden, in close consultation with us, is organizing a solidarity festival program from July 17th to 19th. Insanely awesome bands from our planned lineup, for whom we've already booked flights or who are currently touring Europe, will be serving at the Chemiefabrik. This means there's still a chance that we'll spend the planned festival days together. The bands on the flyer are just a first glimpse; we'll keep you updated on other bands and information about advance ticket sales via the Chemiefabrik Dresden channels and from us.

Our buddies from the Chemiefabrik Dresden have already announced that any profits from the event will be donated back to us to offset some of the costs incurred so far for BTF 2025. THANK YOU FOR YOUR SOLIDARITY!

More information to follow! We are very excited!

RETURN AND DONATION INFORMATION

What can we say? You're amazing. Your messages across all channels, your solidarity, your offers of help... it really gets under our skin. We thank you for that and still have to shed a few tears.

Back to reality: Since there are understandably initial inquiries regarding ticket refunds, we would like to inform you immediately and specifically about the refund process:

  • Tickets purchased externally from authorized ticket offices can be returned to the respective ticket office, and a refund will be issued. All ticket offices have been informed about the festival cancellation.
  • People who purchased their tickets online from TixForGigs will receive an email from TFG directly explaining how to get their money back. You will pay the ticket price including the advance booking fee. Customers can request a refund either via the refund link in the email or in their customer account.
  • Buyers who purchased their tickets via our ticket form on the website or through our club account should send an email to tickets@back-to-future.com with the following information:
    • The order number you received for the transfer
    • Ticket number (not scan code number)
    • Order address
    • Bank details (IBAN) with first and last name
Please understand that processing may take a few weeks; after all, we're dealing with a four-digit number of tickets that must be processed correctly.

Some of you have already expressed that you would like to forgo a refund for your tickets and thus "donate" them; as a way of offsetting the financial deficit from last year or as start-up funding for possible follow-up events of your favorite festival, Back To Future. Absolutely crazy! Each of you should decide for yourself whether you can afford to keep the entire ticket price with us. Therefore, it is also possible to donate a portion of the ticket price, but you would have to mention this in your email.
  • The order number received for the transfer
  • Ticket number (not scan code number)
  • Order address
  • Bank details (IBAN) with first and last name

Please understand that processing may take a few weeks, as there are a four-digit number of tickets that must be processed correctly.

Donations were also accepted from people who still did not have a ticket. If you would like to help with a donation, please transfer to our association account:

Recipient: Association for Art and Culture in Rural Areas - Glaubitz e.V.
IBAN: DE12 8505 5000 0500 1386 56
Sparkasse Meissen
Please declare the transfer as a donation and include your name.

We will announce some good news in the next day or two. More on this once everything is safe.

Thanks, your BTF crew

BTF-cancellation

Dear BTF crowd,

We'll say it bluntly: The Back To Future Festival is canceled this year. And yes, that hurts, really hurts.

We realize this is a slap in the face for many of you. You were excited, you planned, some of you have been coming for decades, many for years – and now this. We feel it ourselves. But the truth is: We lost. And we lost to a system that devours culture as long as it doesn't pay off.

We have to admit: We wanted too much. As probably the longest-running active punk festival in this country, we wanted to offer more, think ahead, and still keep our hearts in the right place. We put a lot of heart and soul into creating a festival that feels like home. A place with a real feel-good factor, a space for everyone. Wellness, in the truest sense. But especially in a time and place like this, far from subsidies and without the usual urban structures, it cost a hell of a lot of money.

Since the coronavirus pandemic, costs have exploded. Everything costs more: technology, security, infrastructure, even garbage. But instead of driving up prices for you, we tried to absorb it ourselves. Because punk shouldn't be a luxury.

Last year, we were sitting on a mid-five-figure loss. And this year, it would only have been worse. Current ticket sales and the expected numbers are not sufficient to compensate for that. It would require a significantly larger number of tickets to close the gap. We've fought, calculated, and hoped. It won't be enough. And that's why we're saying very clearly today: This festival, as you've known it since 1996, is no more.

But this isn't a capitulation. This is a cut. An angry, painful, necessary cut. We need to regroup, take a deep breath, rethink structures, and shed excess baggage. With a bit of luck and a lot of work, we'll see each other again – different, smaller perhaps, but with the same damned passion.

To everyone who has bought tickets so far: Of course, you'll get your money back. But if you can and want to, please leave the money, or even just a portion of it, as support and as a sign that you believe in us. More information will follow in the coming days. We ask for your patience and to refrain from urgent inquiries. Thank you for your understanding!

Thank you for your trust, your loyalty, and your support. Without you, none of this would exist in this region anymore. We'll be back! ... Maybe different, but with attitude and with you.

Your Back To Future Team
