LULU, RUNNING NOW

Punk Rock Wellness is now our super duper slogan. What does a sophisticated woman like Lulu imagine by this? Since I'm already over 30, I'm the classic wellness person. Hop over the lawn sprinkler in a bikini and sit lightly.

Which one of you will show off which jump in the forest pool? Of the Boyz for sure. They want to show off their muscles. I don't really need that.

What's really cool about festivals? BEER and BOYZ. But more BEER!

How do you feel about being on stage with this band? It's often unpleasant but usually quite nice.

BTF-CHECK: NASTY RUMOURS

A band that masters and celebrates the '77 style so much can only consist of good people. It's going to be a celebration with NASTY RUMOURS!

Which one of you is most excited about being able to play at Back To Future? Well, me! I've wanted to go to the BTF for a long time, the program is great, a lot of nice people that I like go there and can now play myself, that's a nice thing.

You're from the BTF Switzerland, when are you leaving? We're playing in Tabor at the Mighty Sounds Festival before the BTF and somewhere else on the way there. That means NASTY RUMORS can do a full rehearsal twice before the BTF, which in turn means that we will be extremely horny.

Glaubitz is more on the flat land. Explain to us what's so cool about mountains. Come on, get us really hot! Mountains aren't cool! They are dangerous, brutally high and create shadows and are therefore responsible for my pale face. Jamous, on the other hand, the Nasty Rumors guitarist, loves the mountains because they are so high and steep. He loves climbing all the peaks in the Bernese Oberland, then nibbling on a sausage up there and looking down. Something like that... You're welcome to ask him more about this topic at the BTF, he'll talk to you for hours!

There's a forest pool near us where a karaoke band also plays on Saturdays. Are you coming to cool off and who will sing which song? Cool, beach vacation in Glaubitz, definitely hotter than any mountain hike! I generally only sing playback, but I'd be happy to listen to the whole thing over a beer.

Do you know our slogan Punk Rock Wellness? What do you imagine by that? Everyone knows that punk rock is wellness for the soul and balm for the liver!

RAZZIA IN BTF-CHECK

You don't always have to answer questions at length, of course. Well, we're looking forward to RAZZIA - The Band Fanpage. Here's your quick check:

From the bustling cosmopolitan city of Hamburg to the tranquil and quiet Glaubitz. What do you think you can expect? An open air gig with around 2000 visitors.

Did you ever play in the East before 1989 or did you drive through? What was it like back then? Before the wall came down we didn't play in the GDR.

Who do you know and might be happy to see? The bassist has heard of Anti-Flag, Piss and Third Choice. We also had a few performances with the latter decades ago.

What do you value at an open air? We think it's great when there's a lot of audience, the facility is good and which is comfortable backstage and has a clean toilet.

GO TO THE KIOSK: THE NEW OX IS THERE

Now also available, the new issue of OxFanzine, which is really successful: Reverend Beat-Man, Jello Biafra, Street Dogs, Fat Mike and a few more articles. But first and foremost this time is the interview with Penelope Spheeris. Besides the cult film Suburbia, what other cult slapstick did she deliver in 1992? Take a look, it's really worth it.

BTF-CHECK: THE RUMJACKS

The Rumjacks from Down Under Australia have already experienced a lot in their 10 years of traveling around and this is their BTF check:

What's it like to play a festival for the first time? That's always fun. So first of all, be happy to have been booked and then find out who else is performing. Also, which friends you might meet or which colleagues you should urgently look at.

What do you expect from a good festival? A well-functioning organization. Fortunately, this is the case at almost all European festivals. So not just for us, but also for the audience. If there are problems at every nook and cranny, it can be quite annoying. But if everything goes well, it affects the performance and the atmosphere among the audience.

What don't you like so much about festivals? Relatively often we arrive with just enough time, play our set and almost have to leave again. That's a shame if you don't have enough time to fully enjoy the event. It's also stupid to play on another day like a band that you would have liked to see because you are already on a stage somewhere else.

Which of the bands have you never seen before but really want to check out? There are a lot of bands that we've never seen before, but whose names we've known for a long time are and we look forward to seeing some of them. But also our friends RUDE PRIDE, Pipes and Pints and Anti Flag, with whom we have already done something together. It's going to be great, we're really looking forward to it.

What are your festival highlights? The absolute highlight so far was probably Woodstock in Poland 2016. That was really huge. Or as a headliner at the Street Mode Festival in Greece last year. But there are so many great DIY events that we remember fondly. It's nice that we've been around long enough to play a festival for the second time and meet the same organizers and crew members. Something like that is really fun.

Do you have anything special planned to celebrate your tenth anniversary? In fact, we're currently collecting a few songs and seeing what we have. It could be a good thing that we'll come up with something soon.

BTF-CHECK: DIE DORKS

At the beginning of the week you can read a little more. Really nice that Die Dorks responded in such detail. Festival check from:

You have probably already been there as guests. This year you'll change your perspective and look down from the stage. Why was it about time? Yes, we managed to finally stop by last year. As you've probably noticed, we always play quite a few concerts throughout the year and almost all of us work shifts on the side, so our schedule fills up very quickly. But luckily we were able to carve out this time to just take a vacation and listen to other bands. Playing yourself is of course the best thing and we like to play anywhere where the location, organizers and guests celebrate together in a nice and relaxed way. Back to Future struck us as particularly positive in this regard and was an absolutely familiar, cool festival with a varied music program. That's why we're even more excited to be rocking there this year. And every band would definitely like to play on this stage, so it's about time?

Which one of you will shine in the forest pool with an ass bomb? I think there will definitely be the gentlemen of the low tones, the bass players and the keyboard players. They are fun for everyone. In time, I will bring the drummer, also known as the infamous “Sleepmaster,” to safety. The guy always falls asleep very quickly and should therefore definitely be brought to Daniel in the childcare tent so that he doesn't make a “dead man” in the forest bath.

Why should you as a punk wash yourself if you're going to get dirty anyway? Refreshing yourself in a forest pool is nice in these hot temperatures, but showers with soap etc. are completely overrated at festivals. As a band, when you're on tour, it's no use at all. If anything, a change of t-shirt is enough, because afterwards you'll smell just like a polecat. The good thing about it is that the others stink just as much and you won't get looked at wrongly anyway, unless you show up at your employer the next week with the “grind” from the festival. And unfortunately we all have to work to afford touring. It would be nice if you could save water too.

As far as we know, you know the rural areas of Saxony and live in the countryside in Bavaria. Make a few comparisons. There is no difference. There is a general tendency towards right-wing conservative, narrow-minded worldviews everywhere in the rural regions of Germany. Here we are currently debating more about “Balkensepp”, whether we should hang him or not. I think that will be less the case in Saxony.

You have recorded a new album. Will this have already been released for Back To Future, or are you at least playing new material if not? Yes, the album is in the can. At the moment all we need is a guest vocal from “Wölfi” from Die Kassierer, then we can finish mastering the record. The record will be released again through our friends at CoreTex Berlin. The official release date is October 19th, where it starts with a show at the “Aufmucken gegen Rechts” festival in Mühlhausen. Rawside are also there. Of course, a week later there will also be celebrations in our area, so we will be there on October 26th. Start a big release party in the Silo in Töging. We've just asked about bands, but no response yet. Let's be surprised who else is playing? Maybe we'll play a new song on Back to Future as a foretaste, but we should also keep the playing time in mind and not completely push our old hits off the playlist. They are the best way for people to sing along and they are definitely looking forward to it. Our listeners only get to know the other songs after the release and then decide what they like best. Good things take a while!

BTF-CHECK: F*CKING ANGRY

F*cking Angry from Bonn are making their BTF debut this year and Chris Crusher has dedicated himself to our check. Here it is:

You are quite a political band. What message do you come with? Our message is: “Born angry, live angry, die angry”. Get angry all your life and do something about the injustices in this world and create something positive out of your anger!

You are coming to Glaubitz for the first time. What do you think awaits? I have no idea. We're coming to Glaubitz for the first time! But there are some great bands playing that we will check out. We are looking forward to meeting some old friends again and getting to know new people. Some of us will probably get drunk...

Have a good time: hardcore punk is... Positive Mental Attitude! An evolution of punk. What it is definitely NOT: Chauvinistic, macho-bollo-tough-guy bullshit!

What shouldn't be missing from a festival? The audience and the bands

Do you camp or do you prefer a mattress? Daniel tent, Dominik mattress, Beckx mattress in the tent, Gabo never sleeps and I sometimes make do with the muddy field when I'm tired .

BTF-CHECK: BAD CO. PROJECT

Just back from the States, where they played the pool party with The Briefs at the Punk Rock Bowling and Music Festival, among other things, there is the Bad Co. Project festival check, which bass player Steph answered.

Which of you has ever peed in a swimming pool and what was it like? Pretty sure - not 100%, but I would almost say that it has happened to all of us at some point. Depending on the situation, this can be more or less embarrassing - for example, there is a chlorine substance that turns blue when you pee in it. Once you've overcome the moment of fear that exactly that didn't happen, you just have to swim on quickly and then be happy about which poor guy is diving through my innermost being... At least that one is a little warmer for a short moment.

And who among you would like to pee in a swimming pool and then think something? I would like to shit in some people's front gardens, jacuzzis or whirlpools. I would like to look people in the eyes and ask them to stay a little longer. We just visited Uncle Donald T. in the States. He and many of his colleagues would be such candidates.

When can we actually expect new songs from you? New songs are on the way - we are currently working on them and will be in the Coming out with a new record next year. The ink is dry - everyone is really keen on it. It's just a matter of time.

Who are you looking forward to meeting? Sucker would have to answer this sentence, it would be funny - he's a proven misanthrope. Regardless, there are already a lot of people who we like - and who will hopefully also visit us at the BTF.

Please finish the sentence - preferably in detail: Coming from hectic Berlin to the quiet country is... Loooooooooong boring

QUICK FEW INFORMATION FOR SATURDAY

Advance sales continue until Thursday at all listed presale locations. Afterwards there is a box office for €35.00. Don't worry, all visitors come in. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.! Insider tip: The Felsenkeller also has a beautiful beer garden.

Another quick note for supposed skeptics when it comes to sound:

Since we had already attended a few shows in the Felsenkeller ourselves, we are painfully aware of having to tackle an additional “sound” construction site. Before we came up with the idea of the ADICTS concert, it was clear to us that we would give this "program item" the highest priority.
We have spared neither expense nor effort and are of the opinion that we will create optimal conditions on June 9th in order to be able to offer these great bands the worthy acoustic setting, especially you of course.

Several adjustments were made: building acoustic optimization, new technology (which was professionally calibrated), experienced staff (at the mixer, light controls, also on stage), an extra monitor mix and so on. In the end, we are very grateful to Felsenkeller and our sound system for having worked together to find an adequate solution.

Now all you have to do is: “Walk in, the beer is cold!”.
